Our Products: Abrasives Belts, Abrasive Discs

Abrasive Belts

Coated Belts:

A coated abrasive is a product that consists of a thin layer of abrasive grain built onto a cloth or paper backing. Coated abrasives come in a variety of forms such as belts, sheets, discs, rolls and are used in applications such as surface finishing, sanding and grinding, deburring wood and metals.

Non-Woven Abrasives

Manufactured using a web of nylon fibers that are bonded together (not woven) with synthetic resins. The fibers are impregnated with abrasive grain creating a cushioned, three-dimensional material that is pliable, has conformability and is long-lasting.  Non-Woven abrasives are ideal for deburring, cleaning the desired finish to a variety of materials.  They are waterproof, washable and resilient.

Non-Woven Abrasive Belts

Also known as surface conditioning belts, come in coarse, medium, very fine and ultra-fine grit. They are often used in applications where a satin finish is desired.

The 2” X 48” non-woven sanding belt is the most common belt sizes in knife making for the profiling, bevel edge sanding and sharpening.

Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Belts

Aluminum Oxide is the most common abrasive and versatile sanding belt. It is used pretty much on any surface including wood, aluminum, stainless steel, steel & composites.  When sanding occurs, particles break off and creates and forms sharp new points that are constantly being exposed. This helps the aluminum oxide sandpaper to last longer and most cost-effective.

Zirconia Belts

Zirconia sanding belts are a great option for heavy stock removal and long life.  Can be used on metals like aluminum or stainless and is commonly used for woodworking where you want a durable, long lasting belt to quickly remove stock from the surface.

Ceramic Belts

The ceramic particles are very hard but not very sharp. Ceramic belts work for fast removal of material particularly in woodworking and are used for belt and drum sanders.  The grain structure of a ceramic belt provides a continuous renewal of the most consistent and uniform cutting edges. The nature of the ceramic grain allows for faster cutting and cooler stock removal.  Ceramic belts are ideal for surface grinding, edge sanding, removing welds and metal fabrication on stainless steel, steel and other ferrous metals.  Ceramic belts some in a variety of sizes and backing material.

Silicon Carbide Belts

Sandpaper with silicon carbide abrasive is very hard, actually harder than either aluminum oxide or garnet. It is a great choice for sanding metal, for removing paint, for use on plastic or fiberglass.  It is not recommended for wood.

Belt Cleaning Sticks

Abrasive cleaning sticks are made to clean the abrasive surface of sanding discs or belts. Apply the cleaning stick to the surface of the belt, while running to remove dust and debris. Using a cleaning stick, you can prolong the life of a belt up to 10 times.

Buffing Compound

Metal polishing buffing compound bars are generally used with buffing wheels to increase the effectiveness of the wheel while being used during the cutting, buffing and polishing process. Some are of a coarser consistency and are used to remove scratches, while others are finer used to shine and show finish.  They should be applied to airway buffing wheels by coating the edges of the airway buff.

Abrasive Discs

PSA

PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) Discs are composed of aluminum-oxide grains, resin-bonded to heavy E & F weight papers for maximum life and stability. Discs have an anti-clog zinc coating to resist build-up of dust as well as a hole-free design to reduce tearing.

Aluminum Oxide discs offer a fast cut for grinding, deburring, blending, sanding, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces. Ceramic discs are suitable for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings on both ferrous and nonferrous metals. Diamond grit discs are ideal for grinding glass, ceramics, and composites, as well as removing rust and scale from other materials. Use on random orbital and rotary sanders for grinding, stripping, sanding, light blending, and deburring. Zirconia Alumina discs are suitable for maintenance and repair applications, from medium grinding to light deburring and finishing.

RFD

RFD (Resin Fibre Disc) Resin fibre discs are the most popular coated abrasive product used in the industry.  Constructed with a heavy duty vulcanized fibre as backing, which is then coated with abrasive grains and bonded with a tough, heat resistant resin specially designed to resist loading, glazing and grain stripping. A wide variety of grinding abrasive material is available so you can select the materials best suited to your specific applications. Usually only the diameter, grain size and mineral type need be specified.

RFD made of silicon carbide abrasive material are ideal for rough surfaces or nonferrous materials such as marble, china clay, fiberglass, enamel, porcelain, quartz, terrazzo, concrete, and epoxy.

Ceramic Resin Fibre Disc for industrial metal applications are used for stainless steel and other alloys for maximum performanceCeramic grains are extremely hard and actually sharpen itself during operation. They are easy to work with and reduce operator fatigue as they break down with less work pressure than Zirconia.

RFD “A” Type represents superior grinding performance in a premium aluminum oxide resin fibre resin. A blend of advanced abrasive alloys and bonding agents delivers superior cutting rates and a longer useful life. “A” Type provides optimal value when used in high stock removal applications and where a cool cutting action is required.

C” Type Aluminum Oxide Resin Fibre Discs provide overall economy with good performance in an all-purpose resin fibre disc. Containing no halogen producing grinding additives. “C” Type has been designed to excel in a wide variety of applications including metal working and automotive applications providing both cost effective stock removal. They are also widely used for body filler, paint, plastics and fiberglass treatments.

S” Type Silicon Carbide is designed for stone, terrazzo, ceramic and non-ferrous metal stock removal. The highest quality Silicon Carbide is selected for this resin fibre disc.

High Performance Zirconia Discs contains 100% Zirconia grain. Their high performance is the perfect solution for grinding, deburring and polishing metals, welds and stainless steel.  Offering fast stock removal with cool cutting action, they have an extremely long life.

Premium HT Aluminum Oxide Sanding Discs

High quality aluminum oxide sanding discs are used for weld grinding, blending, finishing, deburring and other general-purpose applications. They are ideal for use on most types of steel as well as fiberglass and plastics. We use a special heat treated (ceramic coated) aluminum oxide grain that gives a fast-cutting action and long disc life.

Backup Pads for Quick Change Fibre Discs

Special low profile backup pads to be used in conjunction with quick change resin fibre discs. Threaded center for safe and easy mounting; holds the pad in place during disc changing. Reinforced plastic or rubber material ensures uniform balance for fatigue free operations. The option of medium or hard flexibility allows you to select the best tool for the job.

Hook & Loop (H&L)

Hook-and-Loop sanding discs use a hook-and-loop attachment to adhere to a disc pad.

Ceramic discs are ideal for deburring, grinding and blending on welds, casting s or forgings.

Aluminum Oxide is ideal for deburring, blending, and finishing metal parts and shapes.

Silicon Carbide discs offer aggressive performance on removing rust and coatings from metal surfaces.
